Project Background

I bought the scooter from Ebay on Thursday 19th July, 2007 for $205 (Australian dollars). The people I bought it from was a motorcycle mechanic who had stripped it for parts to restore another NSU Prima D he had picked up from someone's shed.
Stolen Scooter

March 5, 2008 - I woke up this morning with the police at the door telling me my 50cc comuter scooter had been stolen and trashed.  Apparently it happend in the early hours after a guy had stolen a car a few suburbs away and then been in a high speed chase with the police.  He ditched the car around the corner from my place and then stole my scooter wheeled it down the street, kicked the front front fairing and smashed it open, hot-wired it and sped off.

The police (who were circling the neighbourhood) saw him riding without a helmet and then undertook (a much lower speed) car chase.  They caught him but that doesn't help pay for the damage unfortunately.

Damage and dust from fingerprinting

Damaged indicator where I assume he tried to break the steering lock free

Damaged glove compartment - where I think he tried to get to the ignition wires first

Dust from fingerprinting
